Motivating by example, valuing and developing others, and grounded in integrity, I bring over 13 years’ experience in the security industry. My expertise in physical, information, and cyber security provides me with a unique lens of the challenges facing the industry today.

As an active member of Women in Security Kansas City (WiS-KC) since 2016, I am dedicated to the continued growth and success of the organization by providing and sharing leadership, building relationships within the community, and inspiring future leaders. I have proven results with non-profit organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and Boy Scouts of America, and am committed to championing women in the security profession.

At Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City, I’m responsible for the Enterprise Security Education and Awareness practice where I lead several initiatives for physical, information, and cyber security. I’m passionate about making security an ongoing topic of conversation, and more importantly, a critical behavior in protecting members’ data.
WiS-KCs’ leadership is a direct reflection of the core value “We rise by helping others”. I exemplify this personally and professionally. As Vice President, I am prepared to lead and serve WiS-KC in the year ahead.

My name is Casey Striegel. I would be honored to be elected as Women in Security- Kansas City’s Events Director and take an active role in the ongoing progress of our group. We have a strong WISKC Group with a mission to support and provide a focus for women in information security through peer mentoring, workshops, and networking opportunities. I'm excited to offer my work experience and talents to help WISKC plan events and to create a welcoming experience to all members, both long-standing and new.

I have held many peer leadership roles over the years as well as have assisted with High School/College Networking Events. For 13+ years, I have been involved in the planning and participation of User’s Group, Peer Mentoring, and Networking.

I am an IT Professional with a strong knowledge of the security/IT industry. I would appreciate your vote for me, Casey Striegel, to serve on the Women in Security – Kansas City Board as your Events Director.

I’ve been in the IT Staffing industry for close to 17 years and more recently have developed a strong interest in the security space. I started attending the meetings mainly to educate myself when hiring so that I could chat intelligently when calling candidates but quickly realized that I truly had an interest in this space. I am grateful that I have been able to meet the strong women that hold board positions now and would love to be able to help continue to recruit members for this group in the future as well as better my understanding of all things security.

I also have recently started my own IT staffing firm and eventually would like to specialize in the security space. I hope to grow my network as well as just meet some really great people along the way! I feel that my background in recruiting over the years has helped me to establish myself in the industry. Being able to help since this group’s kickoff party last year has given me the insight into what this group hopes to achieve. I think I can add value in by continuously helping the group to grow over the next term.
